Traveling With Padre Pio! This could be the title of an hypothetical film with the beautiful Rome of the Jubilee of Mercy as the background and the immortal Padre Pio of Pietralcina as main character.

We present in this article the complete program of the jubilee transfer of Saint Pio, which will stop, in addition to Rome, in Pietralcina, Benevento, Foggia and finally his dear San Giovanni Rotondo.

PADRE PIO IN ROMA FOR THE JUBILEE

He will be traveling on the motorway in a double bulletproof shrine, escorted by the police in order to get "save and sound", and for the first time since his death, to the Rome of the Jubilee of Mercy. The Roman week of Padre Pio will be one of the most important events of the entire Jubilee.

The translation of the saint of Pietrelcina was strongly desired by Pope Francis since the figure of Padre Pio embodies to perfection the theme highlighted of the Jubilee: mercy: "a living sign of how the Father welcomes all who are in search of his forgiveness". The mortal remains of Saint Leopold Mandic, Croatian Capuchin friar to which Pope Bergoglio is particularly fond, will make a good company throughout the week.

The remains of Padre Pio will be in Rome from February 3 to 11, 2016 on the occasion of the Jubilee

SHRINE OF PADRE PIO: CURIOSITIES

One of the most important aspects of the Jubilee journey of Padre Pio is certainly to keep it intact during transport and protected from vandalism. That's why in the shrine will be special "shock absorbing mattresses" inserted in order to reduce to a minimum the damages caused by vibrations. Above the first shrine will be placed a second shrine with bullet-proof glass.

During the trips the shrine will be followed by a double armed escort of the police. Finally on the base of the shrine will be placed one of the favourite phrases of the friar from Pietralcina: "With thee I am for the world the Way, the Truth and the Life and for Thee holy priest, perfect victim".

PADRE PIO IN ROME: SECURITY ALERT

Rome will be "armored". The prefect of the capital along with the head of the police have provided nine "red zones". The mortal remains of the saint will be protected by a large deployment of agents and soldiers, as well as by metal detectors, barriers, dogs and counter-terrorism teams present in the most neuralgic areas. The measures adopted "shall be identical to those insured for a head of state of high rank".

The recommendations for the faithful are traveling with large advance to the areas of interest and limit the number of luggage and bags. It is forbidden to carry firearms, ammunition, explosives and toxic gases from 14.00 on 5 at 3 p.m. on 6 February in the vast area that goes from the Prati district to San Pietro. It will also be prohibited to film scenes for cinema or tv if they involve the use of weapons.
