Port of Civitavecchia: passenger record in April
New high level this month at the port: +30% ferry passengers, the numbers that make us have high hopes for 2017: numbers, best companies, most popular destinations
After a slight decrease of the month before, the Port of Civitavecchia grows again in April registering a hopeful +30% (93,545) of ferry passengers. Excellent numbers also regarding the vehicle embarkation. The first four month period of 2017 registers +212% of camping vans, +105% of motorbikes and +33% of buses! The RO-RO sector is stimuated by the popular destinations of Barcelona and Olbia that have attracted tourist in April. The first 3 months of 2017 closed with +9.8% of overall traffic (passengers and vehicles) compared to the same period of 2016.

There were 93,545 ferry passengers in April 2017 (+ 29.9% compared to the same month in 2016). Concretely, 42,031 passengers disembarked and 51,514 embarked:

Barcelona (38,291 passengers), Olbia (31,740) and Cagliari/Arbatax (11,664) were the most popular destinations during April 2017 for the Port of Civitavecchia.

The 40% of passengers in April 2017 chose Barcelona travelling with Grimaldi Lines, while at the second and third place (in terms of number of passengers) rank respectively Olbia (34%) and Cagliari/Arbatax (12%), with Tirrenia.
