The Ship Trieste: Italy's New Multi-Role LHD

The Nave Trieste is the newest and most imposing multi-role amphibious assault unit (LHD - Landing Helicopter Dock) of the Italian Navy, and the largest ever built for the national fleet. Designed for extreme versatility, it can perform amphibious and air missions (hosting even the F-35B fighter jets), as well as provide crucial logistical support and humanitarian assistance, thanks to its vast transport capacity and state-of-the-art onboard hospital.

Its entry into service represents a significant leap in the Navy's operational capabilities.

When and How to Visit the LHD Trieste in Civitavecchia

The Nave Trieste will be moored at Pier 13 of the Port of Civitavecchia.

It will be possible to visit it on a single date: November 4, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

To reach the ship, you will need to board a dedicated shuttle bus departing from the "Fortezza" stop, located across from the Bar Camalli.
