Following the much-awaited visit of the iconic Amerigo Vespucci to Civitavecchia, it is now time to welcome another legendary training ship of the Italian Navy, the Palinuro.

The historic schooner, having recently departed from the port of Imperia, is now heading towards Civitavecchia. There, it will welcome aboard the cadets of the first “Aeneas” course from the prestigious Francesco Morosini Italian Naval Military School.

After an intense period of classroom-based theoretical training, the young cadets will now have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of navigation and experience first-hand life aboard a military sailing ship. Onboard the Palinuro, they will officially become part of the crew.

The most exciting news? During its short stop in Civitavecchia, the Palinuro will be open to the public!

Moored at Pier 8, the Italian Navy’s training schooner will be accessible to visitors during the following hours:

At the end of its stop in Civitavecchia, the Palinuro will continue its training campaign, making port calls in Split (Croatia), Trieste, and Ancona. These upcoming stages will mark the conclusion of a truly meaningful educational experience for the cadets of the Francesco Morosini Naval Military School.
