Unbeliaveable figures today at the Port of Civitavecchia, a port that has confirmed its position as important reference point for both passenger and freight traffic. We reproduce below the press release of the Port Authority:
CIVITAVECCHIA, 30th September
Record day at the port of Civitavecchia. Today, there were 17 ships, between cruise ships, ro/ro and cargo ships, moored at the port. There are 7 cruise ships that have not only been supplied, but have also embarked and disembarked about 20 thousand passengers; one of them has excpetionally moored at dock 18 since the cruise terminal was full.
The job done by the port system crew has been of great importance. They have been coordinately involved in the operations of the port to guarantee a high quality service. The crew of the Port Company, has been, in fact, working at cruising speed, employing most of their workers.
The Port of Civitavecchia, despite the economic crisis, continues to be a leader in the cruise sector and a reference point for sea highways and for commercial traffic, especially the vehicles.
