Civitavecchia, 16th May 2018 – After the consolidation of the line with Barcelona, thanks also to the recent financing obtained by the European Union for the implementation of the wharf II of new Ferry Dock, links between the port of Civitavecchia and Spain are strengthened. Indeed, tomorrow will be inaugurated the new biweekly Ro/Ro line of the Grimaldi Group between the ports of Civitavecchia and Valencia with the use of 2 new Eurocargo ships for cars, trailers and guided vehicles.
"The Grimaldi Group - explains the president of the Port System Authority of the Center-North Thyrrenian Sea Francesco Maria Di Majo - has strengthened its network offering a new line that, in 30 hours, will connect the ports of Civitavecchia and Valencia".
"The continuous growth of the volume of Ro/Ro traffic that, as stated by the Grimaldi Group, has recorded an increase of over 10% in the first four months of this year, has translated into the shipowner increasing their naval units". "In fact, - emphasizes Di Majo - in March 2019, the first of the two vessels subject to strengthen/elongation will enter into operation. These vessels, thanks to the use of electrical energy, may reduce totally the emissions in the area during parking on quay; moreover - concludes the President of the AdSP - being equipped with scrubbers, emissions will be reduced even during navigation".
