Civitavecchia, January 6th, 2021 - We receive and share the following press release

After Tunisia, it's Libya's turn. The port of Civitavecchia continues to intensify connections with the maritime ports of North Africa. The first landing of the new Ro/Ro line to Libya (port of Al Khoms, used for freight transport, Ed.) is scheduled for next Friday.

The connection is managed by the Bellettieri Agency, which operates for Malta’s Glenhallen Shipping company. In the first phase, a service every three weeks is scheduled and the ships coming and going to Libya will reach the ports of Marseilles, Genoa, Civitavecchia and Salerno.

"It is a first sign of restart - declares the President of the AdSP of the Central Northern Tyrrhenian Sea, Pino Musolino - with which 2021 begins and which bodes well for the year ahead, that must be the year of recovery for the network of the Ports of Rome and Lazio: it is necessary to turn the page and relaunch the group.

Attracting new traffics is the first step to face the challenges that await us. The opening of this connection between the port and North Africa is a positive sign for the Ro/Ro line which has particularly suffered in 2020".
