For the Navy Day 2024, next June 10, in Civitavecchia will take place numerous events dedicated to the Italian Armed Forces and their relationship with the sea.

The events start on Saturday, June 8 from 10.00 a.m. until 8.00 p.m. and include the installation of the Villaggio Promozionale della Marina and the Itinerant Information Center in Piazza della Vita. The exhibition will continue on Sunday, June 9 and Monday, June 10, at the same times.  

On Sunday at 9 pm you should not miss the Banda della Marina Militare, which will play in Piazza della Vita performing movie soundtracks (and other themes). The concert will be free of charge.

 

To top it off, on Monday, June 10 the Navy Day's celebration at the Molo del Bicchiere. It will begin at 10:30 a.m., with the presence of civil and military authorities.

During the ceremony, the ships Thaon di Revel and Morosini will receive the Combat Flag, the Vulcano ship will be awarded the Navy Gold Medal of Merit for its humanitarian efforts on behalf of the population affected by the conflict between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip, and Lieutenant Admiral Francesco Ricci will be awarded the Navy Gold Medal of Merit for the enhancement of Taranto's Aragonese Castle.

On June 8 and 9, it will also be possible to visit military units docked in the port of Civitavecchia:

Here is the program of ships open to the public:

  • June 8 from 3 pm to 6:30 pm.: ships Duilio, Vulcano, San Giorgio and Italia.
  • June 8 from 4 pm to 6 pm: submarine Scirè.
  • June 9 from 9:30 to 11:30 am and 3 to 6:30 pm: ships Vulcano, San Giorgio, and Morosini.
  • June 9 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm: ships Gaeta and Galatea, submarine Scirè.
