Agreement between the Port of Civitavecchia and Barcelona for sea traffic continues
Sign the agreement at Rome Chamber of Commerce, between Mercabarna, Car and AdSP with the participation of Francesco Maria Di Majo, President of the Port System AuthorityCivitavecchia, 18th February 2019.
Increase and development of the cargo and food sea traffic between the Port of Barcelona and the Port of Civitavecchia: this is the aim of the agreement between Mercabarna, Car and the Port System Authority of the Center-North Thyrrenian Sea, drawn up at Rome on the 18th February 2019.
"As AdSP we will follow the road we undertook some years ago and, under that perspective I hope to sign in my next visit to Barcelona in April, a collaboration agreement between the Port Authority of Civitavecchia and the Port Authority of Barcelona. One year ago we obtained together funding by the European Commission to integrate the logistics chains of both ports within the framework of Motorways of the Sea.
"Right on the basis of that project, both Port Authorities will soon be further close together by the construction of the new pier II of the ferry dock", explains Francesco Di Majo.
Also, adds Di Majo "In fact, the invitation to tender of said infrastructure is being awarded (an amount of almost €8 milion), granted by EIB and the non-refundable grant of the European Commission".
Great hope with the intention that both the Italian and Spanish food and agriculture centersmay be accepted in an inminent Memorandum of Understanding between the Port Authorities of Civitavecchia and Barcelona.
