Celebrity Edge: departing from Civitavecchia the first 3D cruise ship

Celebrity Edge, new flagship of Celebrity Cruises left last week from the port of Civitavecchia for an opening cruise across the Mediterranean.

The Celebrity Edge is the first ship to be designed completely in 3D, signed by internationally famous designers. It is a completely innovative cruise with unseen unique experiences on board. This first season in the Mediterranean the Edge will go on summer cruises departing from Civitavecchia and Barcelona.

Two different destinations are offered departing from Civitavecchia in 2019: 7-night Spain, France and Italy, stopping at Capri, Pisa, Montecarlo, Cannes, Palma de Mallorca/Barcelona and 10-night Western Mediterranean Cruise, stopping at the most beautiful places of South Italy and the Greek Islands.

Celebrity Edge: luxury and innovation

The Celebrity Edge is 306 meters long, it has 14 decks and 1,467 rooms, hosting up to 2,900 passengers, and 1,320 members of the crew.

Located at the heart of the ship, the Grand Plaza is a gathering place inspired by the piazzas of Italy and the golden era of the great ocean liners, but with the 21st-century elegance and style. The stunning three-story Chandelier, che si eleva dal Martini Bar fino al soffitto. The lightning of this seven tonne artwork changes from day to night thanks to their 765 led lights. In the 480 square meters of the Grand Plaza you may stop for a drink or to eat at some of the specialty restaurants.

One of the highlights of the ship is the SPA, a 2,000-square-meter space inspired by the Sea (Sea, Earth and Air) concept. Thanks to a collaboration with leading brands of the wellness industry, it offers more than 124 different treatments, including exclusive zero-gravity massages.

Celebrity Edge: the Magic Carpet

A highlight we can't forget to mention id the Magic Carpet, symbol of the ship! It is the world’s first cantilevered, floating platform that reaches heights of 13 stories above sea level. With an outward-facing vision, a full bar, and space for live music performances, it truly is a destination itself.

Celebrity Edge: alta cucina e suites da sogno

A great focus has been put on dining, with many world-class restaurants, including 9 restaurants, 4 complimentary main restaurants, 2 restaurants for suite guests, 7 specialty restaurants, 11 bars and lounges and 5 complimentary caffés.

Finally, the staterooms: Infinite Veranda erase the boundary between indoors and out. With just one button the glass window opens automatically and your entire living space becomes the veranda. The new Iconic Suites are the most luxurious and largest staterooms of the fleet, with 230 sq meters and two bedrooms, they offer the same sweeping, panoramic views than the Commander room. The luxurious Penthouse Suites have a private hot tub in the terrace and the Edge Villas, six, two-story luxury residences with wide glass windows and private pool, first of their kind in the fleet.
