Frigate Margottini arrives at Civitavecchia
One of the most technological vessels of the Italian Navy has moored at the port. It will be visitable for free during the next two days 12th and 13th of JulyThe frigate Carlo Margottini landed today (11th July 2017) at the port of Civitavecchia. It is a sister ship of Carabinieri and Alpine and it is one of the most technological naval units currently in service in the Italian Navy. It will be moored in the harbor until Friday 14th July, at quay 13 bis North (vedi la mappa del porto)
The ship, which is part of the FREMM program (European multi-purpose frigate) is an antisubmarine and was delivered to the Italian Navy in 2014. It has already been used both in training activities and in mission at the service of Italy and the community.
The stop of the ship Margottini coincides with the visit to Civitavecchia of three naval units of the Chinese navy.
The frigate will be visitable for free during the next two days according to the following hours:
Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th, from 9 am to 12 am and from 3 pm to 6 pm. The access to the mooring area is allowed on foot.
