Everything is ready fort the 38th edition of the Nautical Palio of Civitavecchia, unmissable sport and cultural event that counts every year with the participation of many young athletes from the New Historic Districts of Civitavecchia.
The event, organized by Associazione Culturale e Sportiva A.S.D. Mare Nostrum 2000, will be officially presented next 9th April at the Conference Room “Giuseppina Gurrado” of Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Civitavecchia and it will be inaugurated on 14th April at pier Sardegna and the Atrium of the Service Center Bernini (Former Nautical Station - Pier Cesare Laurenti) within the Historic Port of Civitavecchia.
This year, in addition to rowing competitions, where athletes will compete on both junior (male and female) and senior categories (male and female), the event will involve many cultural associations, NGOs and entities.
There will be many related activities to the main event you can't miss: a photography exhibit, a painting exhibit, food stands, charity stands, the traditional table football competition and much more.

Rowing against early sport dropouts
The event has also set a worthy cause: helping kids, by involving all the main schools in the city to fight sport dropout by young boys and girls and to fight addictions increasingly common among teenagers. Sport is seen as a time for social union and a tool for individual growth.
All events and activities will end with the Procession on the 28th of April in honor to Saint Fermina, Patroness of Civitavecchia and protector of seafarers.
The Procession will start as usual at the Cathedral of Civitavecchia and it will be attended by school principals, teams and delegations.
