Navalia, closing party at the Old Rock

Thursday 15 October is the last day to visit the Navalia exhibition, set in the wonderful Ancient Rock of the port of Civitavecchia.

We have asked Mario Palmieri, curator and organiser of Navalia, who claims to be far more than satisfied: “The outcome is great. Universities, Directors of archeological excavations, national and international researchers have shown their interest on the exhibition, as well as cruise passengers, people from Civitavecchia and also schools. To celebrate properly, we invide all the citizens to the closing party scheduled for Thursday 15th October from 6 pm on. It will be a day with free visits and will participate many majors of the area, the direction, the responsibles for the Port Authorities and Cesar's XII Roman legion. You will learn the history of the Roman Empire, you will have fun!”

Among the guests to the closing day will be the Cultural Association “La Civetta di Civitavecchia” which will show the results of the collection of signatures in favour of St. Peter Fortress on the Molo del Lazzaretto, within the 7th census “Luoghi del Cuore” of the Italian Environmental Fund.
In addition, the book “Lazzaretto. Il nostro Luogo del Cuore” by Sara Fresi and edited by the Assotiation will be presented. Also invited to the event are: the Commissioner Pasqualino Monti and the Director of the Technical Area Engineer Marini of the Port Authoity, the Majors of Civitavecchia and neighboring towns, rear admiral Tarzia of the Port Captaincy, Doctor Zarattini and Doctor D’Atri of the Government department responsible for the Archeological Heritage and local historian Professor De Paolis. 

The exhibition is very nice, it has obtained a great success among the visitors, including children, and it is set in a unique location . Highly recommended.
