Leonardo da Vinci a Civitavecchia: the genius, the water and the sea
"Leonardo da Vinci: the genius, the water and the sea" is the theme of the conference presented on the 21st June 2019 at the Port Authority of Civitavecchia.Tomorrow Friday, 21st June at 2.30 pm the really interesting conference “Leonardo da Vinci, the genius, the water and the sea” will be held at the Conference Room of the Port Authority of Civitavecchia.
The event is organised by Mibact within the events scheduled by the "National Committee for the Celebration of the 500 years of the death of Leonardo da Vinci”.
Leonardo da Vinci, artist, scientist, engineer and univeral talent of the Italian Renaissance, certainly needs no presentation!
What not many people know is that Leonardo not only probably passed by Civitavecchia, but with his ideas, he contributed to the design of the Historic Port: especially, some of his designs inspired Bramante for the fortification of the Port.

Leonardo da Vinci: the genius, the water and the sea: programme
The day will start wih the official greetings by President of the Port Authority Francesco Maria Di Majo and Harbor Master C.V. (C.P) Vincenzo Leone, whom will open the conference, followed by the interventions of President of LNI, Admiral Gemignani, President of URIA Architect Sapio, President of the Order of Engineers of Rome, Engineer Cappiello, President of the Order of Architects of Rome, Architect Mangione and Director of CCA-LNI Architect Valerio.
The session will continue with the interventions of professor emeritus architect Francesco P. Fiore, Francesco M. Di Majo, doctor Palmira Petrocelli, engineer Giorgio Cesari, engineer Paolo de Girolamo, architect Luca Ribichini, architects Marco Carpiceci and Fabio Colonnese and engineer Paolo Contini.
The discussion and coclusions will be taken care by engineer Monica Pasca.
President of Uria, architect Giancarlo Sapio underlined that the aim of this conference, organized with CCA-LNI, is to build a bridge between the engineering and architecture of Leonardo and that of the new generation of professionals who will have to follow the genius' experience and eclecticism, particularly, the observation of the nature to understand its rules as the foundation for the right projectation.
This will be an unmissable appointment for fans of the great Italian Genius and an important chance for engineers and architects to discuss and get inspiration.
