Cruises 2020: New Mega Ships in Arrival to Civitavecchia

The Port of Civitavecchia is very well-known, not only because it is very close to Rome, but also because it has been for many years the first Italian port for cruise traffic.

Enchanted Princess

The Enchanted Princess by Princess Cruises will sail Europe in 2020 and it will arrive to the port of Civitavecchia on the 19th June 2020 to "discover" the Mediterranean.

Built and inaugurated by Fincantieri, the new cruise ship is the fifth Royal category ship and it can host 3,660 guests and 1,346 crew members.

It has 18 decks, with rooms and suites including the exclusive Sky Suite with a private 65-sqm terrace and a common terrace of 1000 sqm, the largest terrace on a cruise ship. It also has 16 bars and restaurants, a beautiful spa and many attractions, including:

Movies under the stars: open-air amphitheater by the swimming pool;
The Voice on the Ocean: the "on the sea" version of the famous singing TV programme;
Under the Phantom Bridge: a unique Escape Room experience.

Celebrity Apex

The Celebrity Apex by Celebrity Cruises will arrive at the port of Civitavecchia for the first time on the 30th May 2020. The ship will leave from Southampton in April 2020, with itineraries in the Mediterranean before moving to Fort Lauderdale, Florida and in the Caribbean in November 2020.

The super luxurious ship is 300 meters long and it will accommodate 2,900 passengers on board.

The hallmarks of this ship are luxury, design and comfort but, especially, fun on her 14 bridges. Specifically, there is the Magic Carpet, a huge mobile bridge, that turns into a bar, a restaurant or even an open air club.

Other news are the Rooftop Garden restaurant, immersed in the green, where you can attend Yoga lessons, watch a film or musical performances, day and night, This and much more at the Celebrity Apex!

MSC Virtuosa

Together with the MSC Grandiosa, the MSC Virtuosa is the largest vessel of the cruise company. Msc Virtuosa will leave from Genoa and it will arrive to the port of Civitavecchia for the first time on the 31st October 2020, calling also at the ports of Barcelona and Marseille.

The new MSC Virtuosa can accommodate 6,300 passengers and 1,700 crew members with a tonnage of over 181 thousand tonnes.

The word that describes this ship is entertainment, in fact, on board the ship will be staged two new performances of the Cirque Du Soleil at Sea; moreover, you can use Zoe, personal travel assistant virtual in the cab.

Odissey of the Seas

Finally, to admire the wonderful Odyssey of the Seas at the port of Civitavecchia we should wait for 2021, because it will leave in November 2020 from North America, it will travel to the Caribbean, and after that to the Mediterranean.

The ship will have a tonnage of approximately 169,000 tonnes and will accommodate up to 4,819 passengers and 1,552 crew members on 16 bridges and 2.095 cabins.
